What are We?

We’re an online literary and art magazine: short fiction, poetry, essays, visual art, interviews.

We started because some friends wanted an excuse to have people over, share work, and trade ideas. Each issue is meant to feel like a long night in an apartment with people you respect, looking good, looking your authentic self.

Art is on the walls. Writers have the floor.

Who it’s for

People who pay attention.

Readers who’d stare at a painting for a while, or read and re-read a page. Artists who are ready to listen to others’ ideas, not just wait for their turn to speak.

What we’re doing

The Blowout is free, independent, and self-funded. New issues come out when they’re ready.
